CIPP (Cured In Pipe Place)
The in-place pipe repair method, which is also translated as curing or treating the pipe in place, is a trenchless method, in which another pipe is created locally and completely inside the existing pipe. The creation of a new pipe is done by covering a special resin-impregnated liner inside the pipe. This method attempts to repair those pipes whose pipe structure has the necessary strength but has suffered damage in its cross-sectional or entire sections that require “repair”. This method is used in the repair of water and sewage transmission network lines and, due to the high speed of implementation and low cost, it also brings a very long life depending on the quality of the polymer liner and resin used. As mentioned, the in-situ pipe repair method is implemented in two forms:
Local in-situ pipe repair:
In this method, which aims to repair a part of the pipe, a polymer liner impregnated with resin is attached around a special CIPP ball, guided inside the pipe with the help of a robot and positioned in the desired position. After inflating the ball, the fibers open and adhere to the inner wall of the pipe with the resin impregnated with it. After ensuring that the fibers are completely attached to the wall, the ball is deflated and the robot removes the ball from the site and accelerates the drying (curing) of the resin behind the fibers with the help of a tool (usually a UV lamp), so that the fibers are attached to the wall in the right position and the new pipe is created as a seal in the old pipe.
